This is an excellent resource for the person who is new to the StarOffice Suite. This book provides excellent writing and illustrations to demonstrate the basic principles of using StarOffice 5.1

The book covers all of the basic techniques of using: StarWriter (Word Processing), StarCalc (Spreadsheet), StarBase (Database), StarImpress (Presentation), StarDraw (Graphic Design), StarMail & StarDiscussion (Mail and News Reader), and the StarSchedule (Scheduler).

StarOffice 5.1 software runs native on the all-major operating systems and this book’s topics cover ideas that can be applied across the operating system board. What works on StarOffice for Linux will probably work for StarOffice for Windows – there is very little difference between the specific OS versions. You need not buy a separate book for each OS you run.

This may not be the best StarOffice book out there – but it is perfect for the new user and is probably the best new user guide. Unlike other new user guides – the material is not written for `Idiots’ or `Dummies.’ It is written by professionals for professionals and doesn’t have jokes on every other page, but what it does have that other books do not are colorful tutorials – which almost guarantee the user success.

I recently loaded up StarOffice 5.2 and this book will still be useful for anyone who uses this for the upgraded version. It probably won’t be necessary to buy a new book with the new version.

For advance users of StarOffice or similar Office Suites, or the user who needs more then a basic knowledge of StarOffice – this book will provide very little for you. There are several other books out there that cover StarOffice, macros and “tweaking” in greater detail.

A rather heartwarming coming-of-age story that takes place all in one weekend. Holden is at times the annoying smarty-pants sibling and roomie, but he’s always authentic as a character. He’s terribly unreliable as a narrator, but that reveals so much more about him than if Salinger had chosen to give an omniscient perspective.

what can you say about a book that delivers time after time. i get something very different from it now than when i was sixteen. it still matters, for a new set of reasons, and that’s what makes it great.

When I bought this I was a little hesitant seeing that it was so cheap. Upon arrival I was still wary, it looked cheaply made, but after I found the right radio station for it to play on I was amazed. This transmitter has great sound quality and it’s easy to use. Overall, it’s a bit bulky but it has nice sound for the price and does the job I needed it to.

I can check my e-mail using my home wi-fi, and it fits in my pocket, and I don’t have to wait for it to boot up! Sure it plays music, but this is an awesome Internet surfing e-mail checking pocket computer. The apps are a bounty too. This “toy” is great!!

I asked for the series for Christmas, based on all the attention these books have received. I have now taken them back for a full refund after enduring 130 pages of Twilight. I cannot believe this drivel was published by a respectable publishing house. I cannot imagne anyone older than eleven wasting their time turning the pages….NO STARS…..
CLASSIC High Definition 1

Holds 1300 pics from my 10mp camera. Class 6 so its plenty fast. See little or no difference from a class 4 I have, but this cost the same.
Only problem Ihad was the camera came about 4 days BEFORE the card. So I had a new camera, and no card for it.. One of the little things I missed in the travel brochure.
