While Mario is adorable, I found his book quite ordinary. Recipes quite ordinary. Nothing we all haven’t heard or read before. Frankly, I was disappointed. There are much better cookbooks on the market……ie……..Ina Garten, Rachael Ray, Giada at home.
Extra Lean The Fat

Amazing book — great read! I had to slow myself down because I dreaded coming to the end and not having any more to read. It’s written in a down-to-earth, raw manner without being over the top and insulting. Aside from the main storyline, it speaks to being a woman [of many kinds] and being a mother. There were many moments where I felt compelled to pause and just reflect. Beautifully written, very entertaining.

Conversations with God : An Uncommon Dialogue (Book 1)
I found this book interesting. Contrary to the teachings of The Holy Bible, the author claims that satan is a “myth,” that Jesus was only a great person (no mention of “Savior”), and seemed to imply that the “things written down 2000 years ago” are open to debate. My questions is this: If all these things written 2000 years ago about God and Jesus were true, WHY would God, in “speaking with Mr. Neale Donald Walsch (as he claims)”, suddenly reverse his previous statements about satan, the validity of the Bible, and the absolute sovereignty of Christ?
I am a skeptic, and I like to think I have an open mind. This book was recommended to me by a colleague. However, I could not help but thinking that Mr. Walsch definitely has a “profit motive” in his writings. “If the item sells, continue to write.” Never mind it may be misinformation. Mr. Walsh, I hope you get this “God thing” right- your eternity may depend on it.
Please reference “Evidence that Demands a Verdict,” by Josh McDowell. A professed athiest that became a Christian because of his research. Go figure.

God’s words, thoughts..meanings are often taken and fitted into holes that would take squares. Many often take one verse and build an entire belief system around it without any sense of context or application.

This book however, goes one better. A better title would be, Talking with Satan…
If there were ever a bastardization of God’s Holy words and their meanings…this book is it.

For instance (and I paraphrase), when a girl asks the question “Why am I a lesbian?” His answer is that she was ‘born that way’ because of genetics (just as you were born right-handed, with brown eyes, etc.). Then he tells her to go out and “celebrate” her differences.

Another girls poses the question “I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?”

His reply is, “Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong.”

Another question asks about God’s forgiveness of sin. His reply “I do not forgive anyone because there is nothing to forgive.. There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone, do not judge people. People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong, because the rule is “‘judge not lest ye be judged.”

So, as my title ask…Are your ears itching..I take that from the following scripture which warns us of this very thing being offered up as something from God.
2 Timothy 4:3……”For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.”

I concur with all the other 5 star reviewers. This is a beautifully written, compelling, entertaining, important book. I could not put it down and did not want it to end.

I really enjoyed this book. I received the book in very good condition, and I have been telling my friends about this book. I had never heard of this book until 07/10, I was flying to Texas, and I happened to be sitting to a Hispanic male who told me about the book. Being an Africian American for the South this book really hit clost to home.

We purchased this vacuum with high hopes given the reviews here, but quickly ran into a huge problem: the vacuum pulls “fuzzies” out of our carpet like nobody’s business. Even with it set to be as high off the ground as possible, a sweep of the whole house yielded hundreds of carpet fuzzies laying about all over the place. Worse, the vacuum was literally *jam packed* with carpet fiber – the intake, hose, everything.

It took about an hour to clean the whole thing out. (It really was incredible how much was stuck in there. It was completely unusable.) I was left with a shoe box sized box full of packed carpet fiber to throw out, as well as all the fuzzies strewn about to pick up.

My theory is that the roller is simply too close to the ground, even on the high setting. I don’t think it’s our carpets, which are of the typical new house short, textured plush variety. Nothing old or shaggy or anything.

I fixed this issue by disassembling the intake cover and putting a washer underneath each screw channel. This pushed the base of the intake further out, thus decreasing the protrusion of the brushes. After this modification, all seems to be well. The added bonus is that the vacuum doesn’t leave such noticeable lines in the carpet.

Upon close examination of my mother’s $400 vacuum cleaner (I don’t recall the brand) I noted that on the high setting the roller is completely disabled. Perhaps Hoover makes up for poor suction power by heavy reliance on the roller. Whatever the reason, I’m afraid I would not purchase this unit again.

I purchased the EatSmart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale after finally admitting to myself that I really had to eat smart and lose some weight. The scale I owned at the time was so unreliable I could step on it three times in a row and get a weight variation of up to ten pounds. Not very helpful. I love the EatSmart scale! It is extremely accurate and reliable. I now know what I actually weigh and I can monitor my progress with the .2 pound increments. The price is great; the design is attractive and stable. I couldn’t be happier with this scale.
